### Spacetime Curvature
General relativity defines [[gravity]] as [[Mass|mass]] and [[Energy|energy]] warping the fabric of spacetime itself. This is known as curving spacetime. This curvature influences the motion of objects, which we perceive as gravitational attraction.
### Equivalence Principle
The effects of gravity are indistinguishable from the effects of acceleration. This principle leads to the understanding that gravity affects the passage of time and the path of light.
### Black Holes and Event Horizons
General relativity predicts the existence of [[Black Holes|black holes]], regions of spacetime where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even [[Electromagnetic radiation|light]], can escape once it crosses the event horizon.
